Logan City Council’s human resource payroll system was reaching the end of its life cycle and Council decided to move to a new system. Transforming its human resources system presented Council with a major challenge – to get a solution that would meet not only its immediate transformation needs, but also one that would provide a platform for future growth and change.
“The fact that TechnologyOne customers include more than 200 councils in Australia and New Zealand as customers was important. With so many users of the system, this is evidence of both the longevity of the product and its credentials,” said Jim Barclay, Chief Information Officer.

Penrith City Council
Penrith City Council’s vision is to create a sustainable and prosperous region, balancing both urban and rural aspects. There is a strong commitment to environmental protection and enhancement and a desire to offer residents a lifestyle that incorporates the qualities of both a cosmopolitan, cultured lifestyle with the relaxed character of a rural community. The Council believes it can best achieve these goals by committing to valuing its staff, creating positive partnerships, community involvement, quality customer service, ethical behaviour and responsive management practices.
"The system has adapted with us and this was very important, it has proven to be flexible, while also guiding us into new ways to do things. We have a very different management planning model than five years ago, the system has responded to those changes. It’s allowed us to incorporate special and particular plans of the Council and bring them together. We’re also enjoying the practical degree of integration with TechnologyOne Financials. The system talks to Financials in a useful way,” said Ross Kingsley, Corporate Development Manager.
